Organic Food Coupons - About Us

My organic kids Benjamin

Organic Food Coupons is a family owned website. We are a family of six including our Chihuahua Benjamin (who enjoys his organic dog food-when we have a coupon).

We believe in eating organic foods and minimizing our families carbon foot print. Even though we have a nice little garden that grows fruits and vegetables. We have not yet perfected growing the money tree or a money bush. Despite what our three children think.

I shop locally, online, and always watch sale flyers, print coupons, online coupons and coupon codes and specials. Especially for products we use all the time like organic milk and organic frozen foods. My kids really like it when I can find organic food coupons for food we have never had before. It gives us the opportunity to try something new and it's not as risky if we do not like it since we used a coupon and did not pay full price.

The coupon hunting process is time consuming but really worth the effort. After spending hours, days, weeks researching online and in stores collecting coupon resources, the light went off. (I am a bit slow so it took a while). Why not post all of the information that we find on a website so everyone can use it to find organic food coupons for their families.

Slowly but surely we have been able to add the organic coupon information out of my black checkered composition book and onto the website. We will continue to add new online coupons, organic food coupon codes, newsletters and contact pages of companies that make/grow organic foods. I usually add new information at night when the kids go to bed, so book mark the site and check it often.

Our mission and purpose of OrganicFoodCoupons.com:
To help families be able to serve more organic food, by providing resources for free organic food coupons. And to provide families with the opportunity to try different organic foods by using money saving coupons.

With all the extra money I save...I buy fabric.  I am a fiber artist and art quilter. If you quilt too, I have free quilt patterns on our QuiltConcepts.com website. They are all saved as a PDF, when you select the pattern you like it will open up and you can just print it out.

Contact or email us any time with suggestions or additions to coupons that you may have found.

Our organic garden.  We recently moved and wanted to see how the soil would produce (full of clay and sand) so we did a combination small garden in the ground an patio garden.  The garden planted in the ground did okay- we were able to grow egg plants, green peppers, cantaloupe, basil, rosemary and lavender.  We also planted some fruit trees but too early to know how they will take.  The patio garden did fantastic! We were able to grow oranges, hot peppers (two different types), cucumbers, tomatoes, basil, parsley, oregano, dill, watermelon, egg plant, and as you can see from the photo's its still growing strong.  We were very careful not to use any pesticides in our garden as we also love to watch hummingbirds.  Since the hummingbirds main source of protein is bugs we wanted to be very careful not to have the hummingbirds eat bugs that had been in contact with poison. Instead of using twine for the plants to vine we used plastic pink flamingo's hoping the color would attract more humming birds- it worked.

Our Organic Garden Photos

Organic Cucumber

Organic cucumber in our patio garden- we have had a lot of luck growing them.  They have made wonderful pickles.

Organic Hot Pepper Plant on Pattio

Organic hot peppers-this plant got huge.  The bottom of the hot pepper plant developed thick like a tree.

Organic Tomatoes on Pattio

Organic Tomato plants-These do well if they keep well watered. The bottom of the pot sits inside of two holders so that it can have extra water.  We also have a rain bucket close by and the overflow hose is in the bottom of the planter.

Organic Watermelons in patio garden

Organic watermelons-a bit more difficult to grow. They either seemed to get hit with the weed wacker and die or some little animals would chew on them.  We have harvested one and have a really nice one growing right now.

Organic Melons

This organic melon is the only one that made it so far- keep your fingers crossed for us.

Organic Eggplant Texas Garden

Organic Eggplants- we planted in both the patio garden and in the traditional garden. These grow well here in Texas. Yum!

Organic Sunflowers Texas

Organic Sunflowers grow FANTASTIC! they are taller than I am and the flowers are huge.

Organic Sunflower Texas upclose

The sunflowers were planted with organic seeds and have not been treated with any pesticides. They grew in a vibrant yellow, deep orange and rusty red.

Our garden bugs- larger in Texas.

Huge green caterpiller

This was the largest caterpillar I have seen in my whole life. Wish the photo could have shown the actual size better.  It was about 4 inches long and was as thick as a highlighter. Sure it was a nice feast for the birds.

Large Green Grasshopper in Organic Orange Tree

Large multi color green grasshopper hanging out in our organic orange trees.

Organic Compost Bug

Large green and brown winged bug hanging out on our organic compost bin. This one was about 2".

Another huge grasshopper.  He was on the window in front of the organic patio garden.

Hummingbirds love the organic garden.

Hummingbird at feeder in organic flowerbeds

Hummingbird feeding over the organic flower beds.

Hummingbird going between organic flowers in the flower bed and the organic flowers in the hanging pot. We found a tiny humming bird feeder that can be placed into a hanging pot- they love it too.

Tiny, tiny humming bird feeding from a flower in our organic flowerbed out front of the house.

Two hummingbirds fighting over who gets to eat in our organic flower beds.  They are so much fun to watch.
