We made this sangria recipe last night for an early summer barbecue. I liked the combination because it was sweet, fruity, refreshing, colorful and not loaded with alcohol. Since it has organic ginger ale added at the end- this fruity sangria has more of a "spritzer" taste then a "spiked" fruit punch. You could add frozen grapes too if you like them for a little extra color. Please drink responsibly and follow the alcohol consumption laws in your state/country.
Organic sangria ingredients:
1 bottle
organic sweet red wine (table wine)
1 bottle organic sweet white wine (Riesling)
1 cup organic lemonade mix or fresh if you have it made up
1 cup
organic cane sugar
2 organic oranges (juiced)
2 organic limes (juiced)
1 organic peach sliced into long thin wedges
2 cups organic strawberries cut into large chunks (cut each strawberry into four)
1 small organic pineapple, diced and juice
1 liter bottle organic ginger ale
In a large glass pitcher-pour in the two bottles of organic wines. Add fresh organic orange, lime, lemon juices, lemonade mix, sugar, and fresh fruits. Chill in the refrigerator. Right before serving the organic sangria add ginger ale and ice.
NOTE: do not add the ginger ale too early or the sangria will loose its bubbles and then
it takes on a heavier body similar to a fruit punch.
